Blinking Symbol Pins from Rugby's - Year?

Rugby's Starbase has made neat goodies for BotCon over several years -
things like bumper stickers, baseball caps, mugs (which I sadly missed out
on), and metal pins. My favorite item has got to be the metal pin with the
blinking eyes - there's a Decepticon and an Autobot version, and I've worn
my Decepticon symbol so much that the battery has worn down. Anyway, if
anyone's familiar with these, do you remember what year they came
out? There were some still available at this year's con, so it can't have
been all that long ago. It's between 2000 and 2002, almost
certainly. Anyone have an exact year?

The very first year I went to the Con I bought one of those pins, and that
was the year 2000. However, someone at the convention told me they had
bought one last year at the convention which would have made it 1999.

I've been a helper for Rugby's since '99 and the blinky pins were first made
for BC 2000. Matt, and now Dwayne have had more of them made for later
conventions, since they sold out every year at the shows.
